Engineered Timber

With over 15 years of experience in the flooring industry, we know that engineered timber floors are a smart, stylish choice for most homes. They look and feel remarkably similar to solid wood flooring but offer greater flexibility and affordability.

Engineered Timber products are solidly built, reliable, and perhaps most importantly sustainable than comparable materials. It is more flexible in application, allowing it to be installed on any level. This means it can be floated, glued down directly on a concrete slab, even nailed or stapled to a wood sub-floor in any room of any home. Easy and fast to install, they compare closely to the luxury of real wood with great appearance and performance.

FAQs

Engineered timber flooring is made up of several layers of wood, with a genuine hardwood surface that delivers the look and feel of natural timber. Beneath this top layer, durable multi-layered plywood adds strength and stability. This construction makes engineered timber less prone to warping from moisture or temperature changes, which is particularly well-suited to Australian conditions.

  • Strength & Stability: Built with multiple layers, engineered timber is structurally strong and designed to withstand changes in moisture and temperature, making it suitable for both busy homes and commercial spaces.
  • Natural Beauty: Every board is unique, showcasing authentic grain patterns with a wide selection of colours and timber species to match your design preferences.
  • Adds Value: Engineered timber enhances the look and value of your property, offering a touch of luxury and a smart long-term investment.
  • Low Maintenance & Long Life: Easy to clean and highly durable, engineered timber helps maintain comfortable indoor temperatures year-round. Depending on the wear layer, it can last for decades sometimes up to 100 years.
  • Healthier Living: Unlike carpets, it doesn’t trap dust or dirt, and its low VOC levels support cleaner, safer indoor air.
  • Versatile Installation: Suitable for kitchens (including glue-down under cabinetry) and can be laid over most subfloors, even concrete with the right moisture barrier.
  • Climate Resilient: Thanks to its composite core, it is less affected by fluctuations in humidity and temperature.
  • Cost-Effective Luxury: More affordable than solid timber while still delivering a premium, timeless finish.
Glue-Down (Direct Stick) Method:
  • This method offers excellent stability and improved acoustic performance. It’s suitable for uneven subfloors and creates a firm, solid feel underfoot.
Floating Floor System:
  • A quicker and simpler installation option, though it requires slightly larger expansion gaps to allow for natural movement.
Expansion Gaps:
  • Direct Stick (Glue-Down): Minimum 8mm
  • Floating Floor System: Minimum 10mm
