Our Timber Flooring Options

We carry two types of timber flooring to suit different homes, budgets, and installation requirements.

Pre-Finished Solid Timber

Engineered Timber

Pre-finished solid timber flooring is natural hardwood that arrives on site already sanded, stained, and coated with a factory-applied protective finish. There is no sanding or polishing needed after laying, which means less mess and a faster turnaround. It is a premium, long-lasting choice suited to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and dining areas.

Popular species in our range include Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Jarrah, Tasmanian Oak, Sydney Blue Gum, Brush Box, Red Ironbark, Jatoba Brazilian Cherry, and Kempas.

Engineered timber flooring features a genuine hardwood surface bonded over multiple layers of plywood. This construction gives it the same look and feel as solid timber, with better resistance to moisture and temperature changes. It can be installed on any level of the home, including directly over a concrete slab, making it the more versatile option for modern Sydney homes.

It can be glued down for a solid, quiet feel underfoot, or floated for a quicker installation. Wear layer thickness varies by product, with some boards lasting up to 100 years with proper care.

Why Choose Timber Flooring for Your Home

Frequently Asked Questions

Solid timber is milled from a single piece of hardwood throughout. It can be sanded and refinished many times and is best suited to ground-level rooms with stable humidity. Engineered timber has a real hardwood wear layer bonded over a plywood core, which gives it greater dimensional stability. It handles moisture and temperature fluctuations better, making it suitable for concrete slabs, upper floors, and areas where solid timber may move or gap.

Pre-finished solid timber is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and dining areas. It should be kept away from high-moisture areas like bathrooms and laundries. Engineered timber is more flexible and can be installed on any level, including over concrete subfloors with an appropriate moisture barrier.

With proper care, pre-finished solid timber can last for decades and can be refinished to restore its appearance. Engineered timber lifespan depends on the thickness of the wear layer. Premium engineered boards carry extended warranties and can last just as long as solid timber in the right conditions.

Engineered timber can be glued directly to a concrete slab once the slab has been tested for moisture and is properly prepared. Pre-finished solid timber is generally not recommended over concrete without a suitable subfloor system in place.

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit that can scratch the surface. Use a damp (not wet) mop for deeper cleaning, and avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water. Place felt pads under furniture legs and consider rugs in high-traffic areas. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can fade the finish over time.

Yes. The hard surface is easy to clean and does not harbour allergens or pet dander. Pre-finished solid timber and engineered timber both come with durable factory finishes that stand up to everyday family life. For very active households or large pets, choosing a harder timber species or a thicker wear layer on engineered boards will improve scratch resistance.
